Science Olympiad

Call all Scientists! Students have been hearing about an opportunity to apply to be apart of Science Olympiad from the news and their teachers. This is offered to 3rd, 4th, and 4th graders who would like to attend 4 lunch meetings prior to attending the county wide event on April 10th from 9-1:45am at Lake Michigan College. The lunch meetings consist of students learning different science experiments that will take place at the event. Students who are interested should get their own application from outside of Mrs. Peek's Classroom, and turn it in by Thursday, March 5th. Teachers will then randomly select 10 applicants for the entire 3rd grade. Students will be notified on Friday, March 6th if they were selected.

New Reading Unit

The Waste Cycle: How We Make Trash

Module 3-Innovator aims to build students’ knowledge about how the waste cycle works and the trash-related decisions that people make: the different ways material objects are produced, reused, recycled, and disposed of as waste; and how those choices have an impact on people’s lives and communities. Throughout the module, students are empowered to think critically as readers, writers, and citizens of the world.


Math Unit 5 - Fractions

We are beginning a new unit in math and are focusing on fractions. Please view this family support video as well as this additional support material to learn more about what your child will be learning.
