Mid-Year NWEA Testing
Our students will be taking the mid-year NWEA math test on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. These are the same tests given in the fall and spring and are used as a measure to check growth. There is no need to prepare at home other than to discuss the importance of good test taking skills: taking your time, doing your best, staying focused, eating a good breakfast, drinking water, etc.
We have been working very hard at learning many different strategies for solving multiplication problems. We are continuing to work on memorizing multiplication 1-10 facts. This week we will be starting a fun incentive to learn our multiplication facts. Students will be working to earn a pizza party. For each multiplication level they pass, students will add another piece to make a whole pizza. Please have your child continue working on their facts at home. Learning their multiplication facts will be key to their success in math. Our pizza party will be in February 27th. We have a half day of school on this day, so hopefully it will help you out to feed them some lunch before sending them home.
